Profile Summary
I am a Metallurgical Engineering graduate and practising metallurgist in Dubai with experience spanning process quality, technical marketing and laboratory testing. I specialise in analysing and improving metal alloys, applying statistical process control and failure analysis to deliver high‑integrity components. My work blends hands‑on testing, data‑driven quality improvement and cross‑functional collaboration to develop new materials and optimise manufacturing processes. Fluent in SPC, FMEA, DOE and Root Cause Analysis, I enjoy turning complex metallurgical challenges into reliable products.
Work Experience
Metallurgist – Emirates Industrial Laboratories, Dubai
Nov 2024 – Present- Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis of metals and alloys, preparing specimens for microscopic, chemical and mechanical evaluation.
- Operate and calibrate spectrometers, hardness testers and microscopes while maintaining safe, compliant laboratory practices and contributing to improved testing protocols.
- Record and interpret test data; prepare detailed reports and present findings to engineering teams to inform material selection and process decisions.
- Perform failure analysis on metal components to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions; collaborate with engineers on new material development.
- Establish procedures following ASME Section IX and ISO 15614‑1 welding qualification standards and consult ASM Handbook Volume 11 for guidance on failure analysis and corrosion testing.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM and ISO steel grade specifications; utilise intergranular corrosion (IGC) methods and ASTM G48 pitting corrosion tests to evaluate stainless steel and superalloy performance.
Technical Marketing & Quality Engineer – Vijay Spheroidals
Jun 2022 – Sep 2024- Provided technical marketing support for cast iron products, collaborating with product development and marketing teams to craft campaigns, training materials and unique selling propositions.
- Developed marketing content and technical documentation; monitored product performance, resolved prototype issues and delivered presentations and demonstrations to customers and industry stakeholders.
- Implemented ISO 9000 based quality management systems and oversaw calibration and testing equipment; generated QA documentation, inspection plans and quality plans.
- Analysed production data using SPC, DOE and Six Sigma tools; coordinated new product launches, cost‑reduction initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Conducted audits and root cause investigations to ensure compliance with standards; liaised with customers to address technical queries and researched market trends and emerging technologies.
Trainee – Bhoruka Extrusions (Automotive Components)
Nov 2021 – May 2022- Underwent intensive training on friction‑welding of wheel hubs and automotive hub units, gaining insights into mechanical properties and quality control of critical components.
- Assisted in laboratory evaluation of mechanical properties and microstructural analysis; participated in root cause investigations of material failures.
- Supported process improvement initiatives, documented findings and practised safe working procedures while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
